Folk Passion Performance
29th April at 3 pm.
The message that follows from the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is permanent. There has not yet been a time in which this basic New Testament story has nothing to say about the state of human society in both spiritual and secular terms.
In addition, the Czech People's Passion is one of the many roots of Czech theater. Jesus' Passion Story is a story of death and life, of defeat and victory. We can watch him with emotion or look up at him with admiration. What matters is the fact that it is also a story of our life. Jesus' death is about our death, and his victory is a promise of victory for us.
Passion tells us to enter it. It's not about showing the story to others for the show. Let's take advantage of the fact that theater is an interactive art. You will surely argue: our pragmatic present commands our intellectual distance, our criticality experience. But there is also a second way.
Take the story of death and life seriously and personally enter it. The interconnectedness and continuity of the Jewish, antique and Christian cultural traditions is a co-determining source of European culture. Most of the significant past and present artistic performances are accompanied by these conscious and subconscious relationships. And as for us, who are about to participate in the staging of Passion in period costumes and in the sound of Loreto's frontage, we identify with the words of the Opponent (the Passion Guide): We do not do it for our praise, but for the honor of God and his eternal glory.
The Zbraslav Passion Association, in cooperation with the City District of Prague 1, the Zbraslav Cultural Society and Prague Loreto, invite you to this event:
